The Interactive Free Legal Answers Luncheon will be in a clinic format. Participants will first learn about Texas Free Legal Answers, a pro bono project run by Texas Legal Services Center and the American Bar Association. Texas Free Legal Answers is a website where income-qualifying Texans can ask for advice from a licensed Texas attorney at no cost to the user. After a short presentation about the project, participants will break into small groups to begin answering legal questions on the website together and join in friendly competition to see which group can answer the most questions.
Before the clinic, attorneys who have not already created a Texas Free Legal Answers account will need to register at https://texas.freelegalanswers.org/Attorneys/Account/Agreement. It takes about 2 minutes to fill out the information needed for registration. Each attorney will receive additional information and training resources once the registration is approved.
If you are not an attorney, you can still participate! The clinic will be conducted in small groups, so non-attorneys will be able to assist attorneys in drafting answers to questions.
